Overview
This person is responsible for generating new business leads and prospects for The Roberts Group, gathering research on prospects, assembling reports to use in attracting and inciting prospects’ interest in the agency and writing proposals and RFPs. Also, s/he will maintain the prospect database, make and keep appointments, cold call leads, maintain and follow up on regular new business mailings, and stay up to date on correspondence relating to all prospect contacts. The ultimate goal is to bring the new business team front and center to prospects. Travel will be required.
Responsibilities
- Practices effective sales efforts resulting in a steady increase of new business
- Compiles intelligence on new markets and prepares prospect analysis, creating a new business database that tracks all eventual contacts with the prospect including mailings, calls, appointments and correspondence
- Keeps timely contact with prospects through systematic mailings, phone calls, appointments and correspondence, and coordinates related follow up to prospects
- Coordinates targeted mailings and Web communication
- Attends agency new business meetings to keep the Executive Vice Presidents and CEO informed of new business opportunities
- Leads the preparation of presentations and helps the agency close the new business, along with the new business team
- Initiates communication with professional organizations to arrange exhibit details and propose speaking opportunities
- Staffs new business development activities as needed, e.g. trade shows, meetings and conferences
- Writes and/or support in writing requests for proposals (RFPs) and routine correspondence
- Other related marketing duties as assigned
