The Supreme Court’s landmark decision to uphold the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will have a significant impact on America’s healthcare delivery system since the act requires individuals to purchase health insurance or face a penalty.  The Court found that the mandate to purchase health insurance as part of the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional.  However, the ruling states that it is constitutional to require the purchase of health insurance under Congress’ power to tax.  While there are benefits (allowing those 25 years and younger to stay on their parent’s policy, requiring of electronic medical records, etc.) the costs of this law far outweigh the benefits.

It’s an all-too-common behavior when readers comment on an online article – turning on one another. It is not quite as common on social media; when commenters are aware that someone is regulating responses, they are less apt to pick on one another.
